Bella does Comics #2: BOUNCE!

Bella BOUNCE

I met Chuck Collins two years ago at the East Coast Black Age of Comics in Philadelphia. He was hawking his Tri-Boro Tales comics with writer Keith Miller and happily gushing about being a Doctor Whovian and I could not take my eyes off his beard.

Chuck Collins’ beard should be the star of its own Ginsu commercial. It is the sharpest thing ever grown on a human. It frames his jolly face in a thin trail then juts out at the bottom, shooting from his chin like a locomotive steaming towards the damsel in distress tied to the rails. And its not stopping! Its coming. That beard just keeps coming!

Fortunately the man behind the hair is a cool dude who has a heart as big as his bodyguard-size frame. He turned his yarns of standing watch at NYC nightclubs and events into a urban fantasy action comedy webcomic that lit the interwebs on fire in recent months.

BOUNCE! is not only all that; not only well conceived, well drawn, well written (though those balloons get verbose, bruh! My eyes too old for that font!). It is the project that got me off my ass to finally get this Heaven Sent project going.

I’ve told Chuck (along with Brad Guigar) he is my mentor in this webcomic game and I am trying to follow his every step in doing this thing.

But my beard keeps cutting my lady in her sleep so that’s gotta go.
